WEST HARTFORD, Conn.- The Emerson College men's lacrosse team endured a 10-9 overtime loss at the University of Saint Joseph Saturday afternoon.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two teams traded a pair of goals in the opening quarter and headed into the second frame deadlocked at 2-2.
- Emerson scored three goals in the second period and limited Saint Joseph to just one tally to own a 5-3 edge at the half.
- The Blue Jays edged the Lions 3-2 in third-quarter scoring to cut the deficit to 7-6.
- After the visitors chalked up back-to-back man-up goals to start the fourth frame, the home side rattled off three unanswered scores to level the contest at 9-9.
- In the overtime session, Saint Joseph's Brenden Tedeschi buried the game-winning-goal to give the Blue Jays a 10-9 season-opening victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Benson Offit (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and Zachary Stern-Hayes (Brunswick, Maine) both netted a pair of goals.
- Benjamin Redlener (Andover, Mass.) notched one goal and a pair of assists.
- Jack Burns (Clarksville, Md.), Brady Fish (San Clemente, Calif.), and Jared Valluzzi (Huntington, N.Y.) all chipped in with one goal and one assist.
- Between the posts, Elijah Turbow (Valley Village, Calif.) finished with 16 saves.
- Emerson fired 27 shots on the afternoon while Saint Joseph recorded 44 shot attempts.
