BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College men's basketball team edged Springfield 63-61 Saturday afternoon at Hank Smith Court at the Bobbi Brown & Steven Plofker Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Emerson claimed a double-digit advantage with 7:32 left to play in the first half, 22-10, as Hank Gramlich (Dallas, Texas) drilled a three-pointer.
- The Lions sported a 33-19 lead at the half.
- The Pride battled back to tie the game at 61-61 with 31 seconds remaining in regulation on a layup by Josh Hartley.
- Guillermo Gasset Ruiz (Malaga, Spain) sank two clutch free throws with 1.3 seconds on the clock to lift Emerson to an important 63-61 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Linus Helmhold (Krefeld, Germany) recorded his second-consecutive double-double, netting 13 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
- Trevor Arico (Saline, Mich.) also poured in 13 points on the afternoon.
- Hank Gramlich (Dallas, Texas) notched a career-high 10 points off the bench.
- Guillermo Gasset Ruiz (Malaga, Spain) added seven points while Jacob Armant (Arlington, Texas) tallied six points.
- Emerson finished with a field-goal percentage of 35.1% and drained 5-of-18 from three-point distance.
- Springfield shot 38.1% from the floor and 30% from behind the arc.
- Xoren Livingston paced the Pride with 20 points while Josh Hartley netted 13 points off the bench.
