NORTON, Mass. (October 4, 2025) – Wheaton College, ranked No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, scored five minutes into the second half and made it stand in notching a 1-0 decision over Emerson College in a NEWMAC men's soccer match at Keefe Field this afternoon.
Junior Declan Rhatigan lifted seventh-ranked Wheaton to victory 5:29 into the second half with the lone goal against Emerson, scoring off a pass from senior Leao Nelson. Senior Michael O'Gara made two saves to preserve the Lyons third-straight shutout – fourth-straight in NEWMAC play dating back to last season.
First-years Asa Roberts and Finn MacLeod shared the goalkeeping duties for Emerson. Roberts made six saves over the first 66:41 in the Lions goal, before yielding to MacLeod who stopped all three shots on goal he faced in the closing 23:19.
