BOSTON, Mass. (October 29, 2025) – Massachusetts Institute of Technology, ranked No. 8 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Association NCAA Division III rankings, broke open a one goal match in the second half to secure a 4-0 victory over Emerson College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer action at Rotch Field tonight.
Postgrad Natalie Barnouw netted a pair of goals, while junior Maddie Seebeck added a goal and assist to lead MIT and run its unbeaten streak to nine matches. First-year Andrea Cummings chipped in with a goal for the Engineers.
Seniors Ava Muffoletto and Cassidy Jennings along with sophomore Maddy Noll split the goalkeeping duties for MIT and no one faced a shot on goal in sharing the clean sheet.
Sophomore Hailey Forman finished with four saves in goal for Emerson.
Seebeck put MIT in front 11:49 into the match when she dribbled into space inside the 18 for a drive into the upper right corner of the goal for her ninth marker of the season. The Engineers broke the game open with three in the second half, starting with a pair by Barnouw. Her first of the night came in the 54th minute before adding her 15th goal of the season nine minutes later off a pass from Seebeck in the 63rd. Cummings capped the scoring on the night with her third goal of the season, knocking in a rebound off an initial shot off the crossbar by sophomore Amara Ukomadu with 5:11 to play.
Emerson's best scoring opportunity came shortly after when first-year Rowan McCrary found space and fizzed a shot just over the crossbar in the 86th minute.

Emerson (8-4-5, 6-2-2 NEWMAC) returns to action on Saturday when it closes out the regular season with a key NEWMAC clash at Babson College at 1 p.m. The Lions have clinched home field for the quarterfinal round of next week's NEWMAC Tournament, which will be played at Rotch Field against an opponent to be determined on Tuesday, November 4, at 6 p.m. MIT (16-2-1, 9-0-1 NEWMAC) hosts WPI on Saturday at 4 p.m.
