Women's Soccer Bounces Back at Babson, 2-1

McNae’s 79th minute winner seals No. 3 seed for Lions in NEWMAC Tournament

BABSON PARK, Mass. (November 1, 2025) – Emerson College closed out the regular season on a winning note with a 2-1 comeback win at Babson College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer matchup at Hartwell-Rogers Field this afternoon.

First-year Isla McNae capped the Emerson comeback from a goal down with her second collegiate goal with 11:03 to play from inside the left post after a Babson miscue.

McNae's winner followed junior Zoe Simmons second goal of the year on a touch past Babson senior goalkeeper Cleo Grignard from 12-yards out in the 21st minute off passes from first-year Kelsey Yoshikawa and sophomore Kelsea Laughrey less than four minutes after the Beavers had grabbed the lead in the 17th minute.

Sophomore Josie Lee gave Babson a lead 16:59 into the match with her sixth goal of the year from 23 yards out.

Sophomore Hailey Forman gave Emerson a chance at the comeback with six saves in goal. Grignard and freshman Maisie Creamer split the goalkeeping duties for Babson with Grignard making one first half save, before Creamer registered a pair of stops in the second half.
