NORTON, Mass.- The Emerson College men's basketball team absorbed a 72-53 loss at Wheaton Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Emerson trailed Wheaton by 11 points at the midway point of the contest as the visitors scored 25 points and the home side netted 36 in the first frame.
- The Lyons outscored the Lions 36-28 in the second stanza to earn a 19-point, wire-to-wire win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Guillermo Gasset Ruiz (Malaga, Spain) notched nine points and four rebounds.
- Brendan Taylor (Houston, Texas) scored a career-high nine points off the bench.
- Trevor Arico (Saline, Mich.), Jacob Armant (Arlington, Texas), Linus Helmhold (Krefeld, Germany) and Giulio Volonte (Milan, Italy) all recorded seven points.
- Emerson concluded the contest with a field-goal percentage of 32.8% while draining 6-of-21 from three-point distance.
- Wheaton shot 44.3% from the floor and 26.9% from behind the arc.
- Dimetri Iafrate poured in a game-high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Tristan Henry added 13 points for the Lyons.
