BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback to Springfield in the first New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match of the season on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Rotch Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two sides settled for a scoreless opening frame with the Pride holding a narrow 6-5 edge in shots.
- Springfield seized a 1-0 lead in the 86th minute as Connor Policarpo bagged his second goal of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Theodore Bushara (New York, N.Y.) finished with three shots and two attempts on frame while Rohan Edwards (Preston, England) registered one shot on target.
- Sophomore Beckett Hobbs (Issaquah, Wash.) posted six saves in net.
- Emerson concluded the contest with eight shots and eight corner kicks. Springfield produced 13 shot attempts and three corner kicks on the day.
