BRISTOL, R.I.- The Emerson College men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback at Roger Williams in the first match of the 2024 campaign Saturday.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Roger Williams seized a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute. Jack Wildermann collected his first goal of the season while Liam Blaisdell picked up an assist.
- The Hawks doubled their advantage to 2-0 with a strike in the 19th minute as Tyler Jastrab notched his first tally of the fall.
- The home side carried the 2-0 lead into the halftime intermission and held a 4-2 edge in shots.
- Roger Williams tacked on its third score of the match in the 82nd minute, extending the margin to 3-0. Max Patenaude registered an unassisted goal to chalk up his first marker of the year.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Vigo Cassidy (Culver City, Calif.) recorded the Lions' only shot on frame while Thomas Pelino (San Jose, Calif.) and Diego Garcia-Ocampo (Ventura, Calif.) each added one shot attempt.
- Netminder Beckett Hobbs (Issaquah, Wash.) finished with three saves in his first start of the season.
- Emerson concluded the contest with three shots while Roger Williams racked up 11 attempts.
- Both squads earned four corner kicks on the afternoon.
