BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College men's soccer team poured in three goals after halftime to top Gordon 3-2 Wednesday evening at Rotch Field in the first home contest of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gordon nabbed a 1-0 edge in the 41st minute. Max Cardone headed in his first goal of the season off of a free-kick delivery from Moises Montano.
- Emerson got on the board early in the second stanza to knot the score at 1-1. Dominic Reiter (Pittsburgh, Pa.) netted his first tally of the year less than a minute into the second frame as Diego Garcia-Ocampo (Ventura, Calif.) picked up his first assist of the fall.
- The Fighting Scots reclaimed a one-goal edge, 2-1, in the 50th minute as Benji Wright converted a penalty kick.
- The Lions leveled the match at 2-2 in the 66th minute. Riler Selman (Portland, Ore.) buried his first collegiate goal and Theodore Bushara (New York, N.Y.) along with Emmett Biewald (Cambridge, Mass.) both picked up assists.
- Emerson captured its first lead of the night 47 seconds after the equalizing goal to jump ahead 3-2. Thomas Pelino (San Jose, Calif.) unleashed a long-range effort that found the back of the net to collect his first marker of the season while Diego Garcia-Ocampo (Ventura, Calif.) chalked up his second assist of the match.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Adriano Gomez (Copapayo, El Salvador) and Thomas Pelino (San Jose, Calif.) paced Emerson with three shots each.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Wylie Jelinek (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with a pair of saves in his first start of the year.
- The Lions generated 15 shot attempts on the night while limiting the Fighting Scots to six shots.
- Gordon concluded the contest with a narrow 6-5 edge in corner kicks earned.
