GETTYSBURG, Pa.- The Emerson College women's soccer team started the 2024 season with a 1-0 victory at Gettysburg Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two teams battled to a scoreless opening half with Emerson holding a 3-2 edge in shots and 3-0 advantage in corner kicks earned.
- Emerson netted the match's lone goal in the 85th minute to seize a 1-0 lead. Yoshiko Slater (Laurel, Md.) found the back of the net to tally her first goal of the fall.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Katie Wojcik (North Andover, Mass.) fired a pair of shots on frame and Yoshiko Slater (Laurel, Md.) registered two shots.
- Senior goalkeeper Amara Schaub (Redondo Beach, Calif.) posted six saves in her 54th career start.
- Emerson concluded the contest with eight shots while Gettysburg finished with seven attempts.
- The Lions held a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks earned on the night.
