THE LEAD
Boston, Mass. - Women's lacrosse hosted #16 MIT for a Wednesday evening NEWMAC matchup. The Lions lost 24-5, with Ava DelliCompagni and Ava Selby scoring twice and Callie Krosin scoring once. Emerson moves to a 3-7 overall record and a 0-4 record against conference opponents, while MIT improves to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in-conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Head-to-Head: MIT outperformed Emerson on both sides of the ball. The Engineers' offense created many open looks to tally 39 shots while the defense stifled their hosts to 14 shots. The Lions had 18 turnovers in the game, eight caused by MIT's defenders, whereas Emerson caused six of the visitors' eight. Both teams scored twice in man-up opportunities.
- Top Performers: Ava DelliCompagni and Ava Selby scored two goals each during the contest, with DelliCompagni recording an assist as well. Callie Krosin scored the other goal for the Lions to go with an assist. Krosin is closing in on the 100-career-goals mark, with tonight's score being her 98th. On defense, Miranda Tanguay and Sam Bowen both caused two turnovers while Lauren Longstreet and DelliCompagni each caused one. MIT was led on offense by Julianne Flusche and Ellie Rabenold, as the pair tallied two goals each. Flusche also led the Engineers in assists with five, while her younger sister, Gwen, led the visitors in caused turnovers with three.
