Boston, Mass. - Emerson played host to Wentworth on Saturday morning in a GNAC matchup. The Lions lost in straight sets to the #1 team in the country as they move to 4-14 on the season and 2-8 against GNAC opponents, while the Leopards improve to a 25-1 overall record and an 11-1 conference record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wentworth was dominant against their hosts, racking up 44 kills and 10 attacking errors on 74 total attempts (.459); Emerson tallied 22 kills and 12 errors on 69 attempts (.145). The Leopards also had a successful day from the baseline with 11 aces, while Emerson had two. As for defense, Wentworth outplayed the Lions in digs with a 29-to-18 difference.

Theo Hackett led Emerson's attack with six kills, while
Chase Fagen wasn't far behind with five.
Semaj Byrd and
Bryson Beck served the two aces for the Lions, and Hackett and
Liam Higgins were both credited with two blocks after tallying two block assists each. Beck also led Emerson in assists with nine on the day while
Bayden Slavik succesffully set his teammates up six times.
Ben Dorsey tallied a team-leading seve digs in the match.
- Emerson got out to a 6-3 lead but then giving up seven unanswered points to fall behind 10-3. They wouldn't regain the lead for the rest of the set and lost it 25-17. The Lions showed some fire in the second set, trailing 22-20 near the end. Emerson would get one on an attack error by the Jaguars, but Wentworth would score on two kills and a ball-handling error to take the set 25-21. The third set saw the visitors really turn it on, making quick work of their hosts to win the set 25-11 and take the match in straight sets.
