THE LEAD
Boston, Mass. - Emmanuel (Mass.) hosted men's volleyball for a Tuesday night GNAC matchup. The Lions fell in straight sets to the Saints, losing 22-25 in the first set; 19-25 in the second set; and 18-25 in the third set. Emerson moves to 4-15 overall and 2-9 in GNAC games, while Emmanuel improves to 16-8 on the season and 9-4 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Head-to-Head: Emmanuel converted 38 kills and committed 11 attack errors on 88 total attempts for an efficiency of .307%, while Emerson tallied 34 kills and 17 errors on 86 attempts for an efficiency of .198%. The Saints also earned a few points from the service line, recording six aces while the visitors recorded none. Emmanuel outperformed Emerson in blocks as well, meeting the Lions at the net seven times in the match while Emerson did the same four times.
- Leaders:
Bayden Slavik and
Theo Hackett led Emerson with eight kills in the match, and Jack Meissner wasn't too far behind with seven kills of his own. Slavik also led his team in assists with 13, while
Bryson Beck recorded 12 assists on the night.
Liam Higgins was credited with three of the Lions' four blocks, and the other was credited to
Riley Goldman. Finally,
Ben Dorsey had the team-high in digs with eight. On the other side of the net, Michael Shelly led the Saints with 14 kills. He had three more points from aces, which was a team-high as well. Dominic DeFerrari had a fun night of setting, assisting on 30 of Emmanuel's 38 kills.
NEXT UP
Men's volleyball hosts Rivier in GNAC play on Thursday, April 4 at 6:00 p.m. The Lions lost their previous matchup against the Raiders back in February by a final of 3-1. Rivier has a 15-12 overall record but has been very successful in against conference opponents, carrying an 8-2 record in such matchups. The two losses were to Emmanuel and Lasell, and their most recent result was a 3-1 win over Elms on Tuesday night.
