THE LEAD
A conference matchup between Elms and Emerson ended with the Blazers defeating their hosts in four sets. Theo Hackett had 11 kills and Chase Fagen had 10 kills for the Lions, while Elms Pedro De Jesus had a match-high 21 kills. Emerson moves to 2-7 in GNAC play, while the Blazers improves to 2-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson and Elms were closely matched in several categories, tallying similar amounts of kills (42 and 45), assists (38 and 39), digs (63 and 60), and blocks (5 each). However, the Blazers had greater overall success landing their kills, tallying 45 with 22 errors on 141 total attempts (.163%); Emerson recorded 42 kills and 31 errors on 147 total attempts (.075). Elms also had more success with serving than their hosts, racking up 11 aces while the Lions came up with four.
- The leaders on offense for Emerson tonight were Chase Fagen and Theo Hackett, as Fagen recorded 10 kills and Hackett recorded 11. Bayden Slavik had a solid night setting, tallying 20 assists by the game's end. On the defensive side of the net, Fagen was credited with three block assists while Bryson Beck had the lone solo block for the Lions. Beck also had 14 assists of his own.
- On the opposing side, Pedro De Jesus had a career night for Elms, racking up 21 kills. Nick Uschmann also reached double-digits in kills for the Blazers, tallying 11 to go with 8 digs. Collin Liedke had a 29-assist night while recording up 10 digs. The calling card for Elms was service aces, Joey Crain leading the team with four, De Jesus being credited with 3, and Liedke having 2 of his own. Uschmann and Joey Bellafronte also recorded an ace in the match, with Bellafronte's coming alongside eight kills and two solo blocks.

Men's volleyball continues their GNAC schedule this Saturday, March 30th at 11:00 a.m., hosting Wentworh in Brown & Plofker. Wentworth has arguably been the best team in the nation this year, holding a 24-1 record and slotting in at #1 in the latest AVCA DIII MVB poll. That one loss came against fellow GNAC competitor Lasell on Tuesday, March 26th.
