HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson got out to a 3-0 lead at the start of the first quarter via goals by
Callie Krosin (14:41, assisted by DelliCompagni);
Lauren Longstreet (12:13, unassisted); and
Ava DelliCompagni (12:03, assisted by Krosin). Nichols dominated the rest of the quarter, getting out to a 12-4 lead by the time the buzzer sounded. Hadley Houghton scored eight of the Bisons' 12 goals while the Lions' lone goal for the rest of the quarter was scored by Maddie Reyes (6:57, assisted by DelliCompagni).
- Four of Emerson's five second quarter goals were scored by DelliCompagni and
Grace Danehy, with both players being credited with two goals each. The other was credited to
Ava Selby (7:07, assisted by DelliCompagni). Nichols scored six in the quarter to make the score 18-9 at halftime. The third quarter was more of the same, as Nichols tallied five goals while Emerson tallied two from the efforts of Krosin (10:19, assisted by Reyes) and Selby (1:59, unassisted). The final quarter was controlled by Emerson as the Lions scored five goals, with DelliCompagni and Longstreet accounting for two each and the other coming from Selby (0:50, assisted by Reyes). Nichols' lone point in the quarter was scored by Houghton (4:35, unassisted), who finished the evening with 14 goals.
NEXT UP
Women's lacrosse resumes their NEWMAC schedule with a trip to Norton, Mass. on Wednesday, March 27th to face off against Wheaton College at 7:00 p.m. Wheaton will also be resuming their conference schedule, as they beat Clark University 15-4 on March 16th for a win in their sole in-conference game thus far. Emerson currently holds a 0-1 NEWMAC record due to a 19-5 loss against Springfield College on the same day.
