HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Beacons opened the scoring at the 13:24 mark off a free position shot by Mia Boyd, but Emerson answered with six unanswered goals. Lauren Longstreet scored three of the six, and the hot streak was capped by a goal from Ava DelliCompagni with 8:20 remaining. The first quarter would end with the Lions leading 10-4.
- UMass Boston's Angelina Mazzone found the back of the net at 13:30 to open the second quarter. Mazzone would score again off a free position shot at the 4:34 mark. Mia Boyd and Teresa Sheedy also scored for the Beacons in the quarter. On Emerson's side, Callie Krosin and Ava Selby both scored twice, while Longstreet and DelliCompagni added to their totals with one goal each. The score was 16-8 in Emerson's favor at the halftime buzzer.
- Emerson scored one goal in the third quarter, coming from Ava Selby at the 7:21 mark, who was assisted by DelliCompagni. The Beacon's would score three in the period, with two coming from Emily Pearl with 6:57 and 2:26 remaining and the third being credited to Mia Boyd at 1:42. Boyd also assisted on Pearl's second goal. Emerson led 17-11.
- The Lions shook off the rust in the fourth quarter, scoring five unanswered goals to go up 22-11 at the start the final period. Longstreet scored her last two goals of the night at 13:23 and 8:08. Maddy Reyes (11:42), Callie Krosin (8:42), and Grace Danehy (6:13) scored a goal each. UMass Boston's lone goal of the quarter came from a free position shot by Mia Boyd with 3:22 remaining, while Ava Selby scored the final goal for the Lions at 2:17 off an assist from Danehy to make the final score 23-12. Selby was also credited with assists on Reyes' and Krosin's goals.
