HOW IT HAPPENED  

• This game was a pitcher's duel through the first 5 frames of action. Chris Lowe kept the UMASS Dartmouth offense quiet until the top of the inning. Lowe hurled 6.1 innings, striking out 5 batters and surrendering 2 earned runs. 

• UMASS pushed across three runs in the top of the 5th inning due to an Emerson error and a Wixon triple. 

• UMASS was able to score 6 more runs through the 7th, 8th and 9th inning while the Lions remained scoreless until the bottom of the 9th inning. In the home half of the final inning, Emerson scored 3 runs but that was not enough to catch UMASS as the Lions dropped the game by a final score of 9-3.
