The Lead: The Emerson Men's Basketball team had five players score in double-figures but a last-second shot that would have given the Lions a victory rimmed out and the Engineers escaped with a one-point victory on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- The Lions were led by Asher Gardiner who dropped in 20 points and pulled down 7 rebounds in 24 minutes of play. Trevor Arico chipped in 18 points while Brendan McNamara scored 15 and Guillermo Gasset Ruiz chipped in 14 points. Shay Roban scored 13 points on 3 of 7 from three-point land.
- The Engineers were led by Isaac Dobie who had 25 points and 6 rebounds. Merlin Gogolin added 15 points and 7 rebounds for the Engineers as both sides shot exceptionally well throughout the game.
- Emerson was able to convert 35 of 71 attempts, including 14 of 30 attempts from beyond the arc. The Engineers converted 36 of their 68 attempts including 10 of 23 from three-point distance.
- The hot shooting led to this high scoring game that came down to the last possession. With The Lions trailing 93-94 with :12 remaining the Lions had an opportunity to come away with a buzzer-beating victory but the shot rimmed out and MIT escaped with a narrow victory.
