HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brett Patnode got the scoring started for the Pilgrims in the top of the third inning with an RBI double to left field that drove in Bryce Worth and gave NEC a 1-0 lead.
- The Lions responded in the home half of the third inning when Anthony Santosuoso reached on an error to lead off the inning before Briggs Loveland homered to left field, giving the Lions a 2-1 lead.
- Chris Ferara was responsible for the next two Lions' runs as he drove in Blake Benway with a double to left-center in in bottom of the sixth inning before later scoring on a balk.
- After 6 full innings, the Lions led 4-2.
- Bryce Worth cut into the Lions lead in the top of the seventh inning with a solo homerun.
- The Lions pushed across an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh as they secured the first victory of 2024 by a margin of 5-2.
