NEW LONDON, Conn.- The Emerson College men's basketball team absorbed a 74-65 loss at Coast Guard Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Emerson claimed a 17-point advantage with 2:26 remaining in the first half on a bucket by Lucas Brenner (Miami, Fla.), 42-25.
- The Lions carried a 45-31 lead into the halftime intermission after shooting 55.2% from the field and 57.1% from behind the three-point line.
- Coast Guard outscored the visitors 43-20 in the second stanza to collect its first conference victory of the year.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Jacob Armant (Arlington, Texas) tallied 17 points while adding five boards and three steals.
- Lucas Brenner (Miami, Fla.) notched 13 points.
- Linus Helmhold (Krefeld, Germany) posted 11 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
- Emerson concluded the contest with a field-goal percentage of 36.7% and drained 9-of-29 from beyond the arc.
- Coast Guard shot 43.9% from the floor and 38.1% from three-point range on the day.
- Ben Yagey poured in 25 points to pace the Bears while Luke Farrell netted 17 points and Elijah Parent added 14 points.
