BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College women's basketball team earned an 80-70 victory over Elms Saturday afternoon in the first game of the season at the Bobbi Brown & Steven Plofker Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Emerson poured in 27 points in the first quarter while limiting Elms to just 11 points.
- The Blazers chalked up 27 points in the second period and the Lions netted 16 points to hold a 43-38 advantage at the halftime intermission.
- The hosts stretched the margin to 20 points on a bucket by Jessie Silk (Newton, Mass.) with 1:19 remaining in the third, 65-45.
- Emerson sported a 65-50 advantage heading into the final frame.
- Despite Elms outscoring the Lions 20-15 in the fourth quarter, the home side secured its second-consecutive win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Charlotte Levison (Atherton, Calif.) poured in a team-high 22 points while snaring eight rebounds.
- Jessie Silk (Newton, Mass.) tallied 20 points and grabbed seven boards.
- Kendra Dodd (Tampa, Fla.) finished with 12 points while Sofia Canter (Los Angeles, Calif.) added eight points off the bench.
- Emerson posted a field-goal percentage of 45.9% to go with a three-point shooting percentage of 38.5%.
- Elms shot 39.7% from the floor and connected on 11-of-24 from behind the arc.
- Rahmia Johnson paced the Blazers with a game-best 28 points and Talia Uribe netted 12 points.
