BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College men's soccer team absorbed a 3-0 loss to nationally-ranked Amherst Saturday afternoon at Rotch Field. The Mammoths are ranked No. 14 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll and are the third nationally-ranked team the Lions have faced this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Mammoths opened the scoring in the 53rd minute to claim a 1-0 lead. Niall Murphy blasted in a direct free-kick from the top of the box to notch his second goal of the season.
- Amherst added a strike in the 77th minute to double its advantage to 2-0. Mohammed Nuhu converted a penalty kick to bag his fourth marker of the year.
- The visitors tacked on their third tally of the match in the 82nd minute to extend the margin to 3-0. Andrew Tremante netted his first goal of the fall while Aidan Curtis and Sam Davis both picked up assists.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Theodore Bushara (New York, N.Y.) and Thomas Pelino (San Jose, Calif.) each fired a pair of shots in the contest.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Beckett Hobbs (Issaquah, Wash.) finished with six saves in his seventh start of the fall.
- Emerson managed five shots on the day while Amherst racked up 18 attempts.
