The Lead: The Lions were led by 30-points by Bri Frongillo as the Emerson Women's Basketball team defeated Babson in the first NEWMAC clash of the season. Ella Bushee added 20 points as the Lions won by a final score of 78-64

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The Lions and the Beavers battled back-and-forth in the first NEWMAC battle of the 2023-24 season. Bri Frongillo led all scorers with 30 points, converting 16 of her 17 free-throw attempts. Ella Bushee chipped in 20 points as she went 8 of 9 from the field and drained all four free throws.
• Babson was led by Samantha Reale and Katelun Mollica as they both scored 16 points while Camilla Silk added 12 points and 9 rebounds.
• The Beavers led after the first 10 minyes by a score of 17-10 but a huge 2^nd quarter from the Lions helped set the pace for the remainder of the game. The Lions outscored the Beavers 29-17 in the second quarter and held a 5-point lead entering halftime.
• The Lions never gave up the lead after taking over with 2:39 remaining in the second quarter. Emerson extended their lead to as large as 10 before pulling ahead to a 14-point lead which ultimately sealed the deal for the Lions.
