HOW IT HAPPENED

SET ONE

  • With the score set at a three-point margin at 6-3, Emerson would take off and tally the next 12 consecutive points to take the lengthy 18-3 lead over Fisher.
  • Fisher would break Emerson's 12-point streak on a Lions' error at the line to put the score at 18-4.
  • Started off on an attack miscue by Fisher, Emerson would tack on the frame's last seven of nine scores to take the first frame, 25-6.

SET TWO

  • Emerson and Fisher started the second frame off competitively with the margin sat at three at 7-4.
  • The Purple & White began to distance in-between them and Fisher as they set off on a 14-4 spark to bump their lead into double figures at 21-8.
  • A pair of Emerson attack miscues and a swing from Ke'Andre Penceal got Fisher within 10 at 21-11, yet the Lions erased any comeback hopes behind a four-point run to wrap the 25-11 second set win.

SET THREE

  • The third set began tightly contested as Fisher turned Emerson's three-point lead into an 8-all tie after serving up an ace.
  • An ace from De Los Santos capped off Emerson's 11-3 run that helped the Lions gain their biggest lead of eight at 19-11.
  • Fisher could not close in within more than six through the final portion of the third as the Lions sealed the three-set sweep on a 3-0 run, which was rounded out by a swing from senior Jerick Lou

UP NEXT

  • Emerson closes out the regular season on Saturday, April 8th with GNAC tri-match hosting Emmanuel (Mass.) and Rivier at 10 a.m. & 2 p.m.
