HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson snatched the lead late in the game in an 8-1 victory over Westfield State Owls on Thursday. The game was tied at one with Emerson batting in the bottom of the sixth when Claire Overton doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
- The Lions secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the sixth inning. Overton, Jessica Gomez, Kayla Nuehlen, Grace Beaulieu, Carly Rosenberger, and Sam Zannotti each had RBIs in the frame.
- Gomez led things off on the rubber for the Lions. The fireballer surrendered one run on six hits over seven innings, striking out eight.
- Emerson scattered nine hits in the game. Rosenberger and Nuehlen each racked up multiple hits for Emerson. Nuehlen and Rosenberger each collected two hits to lead Emerson Lions 2023.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson jumped out to an early lead over Lesley University and took home a 10-2 victory on Thursday. The Lionsscored on a wild pitch during Sam Zannotti's at bat in the first inning, a sacrifice fly by Claire Overton in the first inning, and a fielder's choice by Kit Zenga in the second inning.
- Emerson secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the seventh inning. The rally was led by singles by Ally Lacey, Mackenzie Rice, and Zenga, a groundout by Kayla Nuehlen, an error on a ball put in play by Steph Trendell, and a double by Overton.
- Lesley University evened things up at two in the bottom of the first inning. An error scored one run for Lesley University.
- The Lions pulled away for good with one run in the second inning. In the second #12 induced Zenga to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
- Emerson scored seven runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Lacey, Rice, and Zenga, a groundout by Nuehlen, an error on a ball put in play by Trendell, and a double by Overton.
- Zenga led things off in the pitcher's circle for Emerson Lions 2023. The bulldog surrendered two runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out five.
- Emerson totaled 13 hits in the game. Lacey, Overton, Zenga, and Rice all collected multiple hits for Emerson. Lacey went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Emerson Lions 2023 in hits.

The Lions wrap up their Spring Break trip with a doubleheader on Friday, March 17th. Game one is scheduled for 11am against WestConn and game two is scheduled for 1pm against Nazareth.
