The Lead: Despite 17 kills from Junior Neiko Pittman and 11 kills from classmate Luke Roehm, the Emerson Men's Volleyball Team fell to the Rivier Raiders by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday evening in Nashua, N.H. Pittman added 7 digs and 6 blocks while Sophomore Bryson Beck tallied 23 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson and RIvier traded blows throughout most of the first set, with neither side creating a sizable advantage outside of Rivier stringing together four straight points in the middle of the set to grab an 18-14 lead.
- The Lions did not back down as they actually took a late lead on a service error by the Raiders.
- The Lions held a 26-25 lead before the Raiders rattled off 3 straight points to steal the set one victory.
- Set two was another tightly contested battled that saw Emerson pull away late to snag a victory.
- Trailing by 2 points with a score of 23-21, Neiko Pittman and Bayden Slavik tallied kills while a block by Pittman and Chase Fagan sealed the victory for the Lions.
- After two sets; the match was tied at 1-1.
- The third set saw little resistance from the Lions as the Raiders were able to secure a 25-14 victory and gain a 2-1 match lead.
- The fourth set was much like the first two sets as both teams traded points until the very end. Neither team led by more than two points for the entirety of the set.
- A service error by Emerson gave the Raiders set and match point with a score of 24-23, but the sides traded points for the next 18 total points scored.
- With the scored knotted at 32 apiece, the Raiders scored two consecutive points with a kill by Sokunbuth Ly, followed by a block by Ly and teammate Ryan Peace.
- With this, Rivier locked up the 3-1 victory over the Lions on Tuesday evening.
