HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Charlotte Levison and Ella Bushee led the charge for the Lions offense in the first 10 minutes; dropping in 8 and 7 points respectively. The Lions jumped out to an early lead over Mitchell and never looked back; leading by as many as 17 points after the first quarter.
  • The second quarter was much of the same for the Lions as they continued to build their lead in the early minutes of the quarter. Although Mitchell traded baskets with the Lions, the lead Emerson had already built allowed them to keep a comfortable lead. The Lions drilled five three-pointers in the second quarter as they entered halftime leading by score of 53-34.
  • Coming out of halftime, the Lions started to really pull away. Bri Frongillo led the Lions, dropping 8 of her game-high 23 points as Emerson led by as many as 28 points. With a comfortable lead; the Lions were heading into the fourth quarter ahead by 26 points.
  • The final 10 minutes saw the Lions build an even bigger lead; increasing their lead to 37 points with 3:04 remaining in the game. The Mitchell offense could do little to stop Emerson's offense as the Lions closed out the Lafrance Hospitality Tournament with a 103-69 victory.
