Set 1:
Emerson came out strong, clinching the first set with a score of 25-15. The Lions were able to pace the Lyons throughout the set and maintain a decent lead through the set. The difference came late in the set when Emerson held a slim 18-15 lead, before rattling off 7 straight points and closing out the Wheaton in the first set.

Set 2:
The second set came down to the wire as neither team created a larger lead than three points at any point during the set. As the teams traded points, the Lions tallied 14 kills on 27 attempts while making 4 errors and the Lyons notched 14 kills on 30 attempts and committed 30 errors. The nearly identical percentage was indicative of the back-and-forth nature of the set. Ultimately Emerson was able to secure a narrow 25-23 victory and take a 2-0 match lead.

Set 3:
Wheaton was able to stay alive in the third set as they defeated the Lions by a score of 25-21. The Lions attack stumbled in the third set, committing 7 errors on 38 attempts while the Lyons converted on 11 of their 30 attempts and only committed 5 errors. Wheaton was able to force a fourth set and avoid a sweep.

Set 4:
Emerson regained momentum in the fourth set and did not allow Wheaton to force a deciding set. The Lions converted 11 of the 26 attempts while only committing 4 errors while Wheaton committed 5 errors and only tallying 9 kills on 36 attempts. Emerson was able to capture a 25-16 victory in the fourth set and secure a 3-1 match victory.
