The Lead: The Emerson Women's Volleyball team was led by Amelia Combs' game-high 14 kills but that was not enough as the Lions fell to the Coast Guard Academy Bears by a score of 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Set 1:
The first set was a close contest with both teams battling to the end. As the set point approached, the teams traded points. After an intense back-and-forth, Coast Guard managed to edge out Emerson, taking the set 26-24.
 
Set 2:
Emerson bounced back in the second set' led by a strong attack from Amelia Combs and Parker Cummings. The Lions secured a 25-21 victory, leveling the match at 1-1.
 
Set 3:
Coast Guard took control in the third set; converting 17 of their 33 attempts and only committing 2 errors (.455%) This strong performance allowed the Bears to regain the match lead with a 25-16 victory.
 
Set 4:
In the fourth set, Coast Guard continued their strong performance, securing a 25-19 victory and securing the 3-1 match victory over the Lions on Saturday afternoon.
