The Lead: Junior Neiko Pittman led the Lions with a total of 25 kills and Sophomore Bryson Beck added 55 assists through two matches but the Emerson Men's Volleyball team dropped the first two matches of the season to American International College and Eastern Nazarene on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AIC played a near flawless offensive first set with 14 kills on 20 attempts while committing zero errors. The Lions committed 7 errors on 20 attempts while racking up 10 kills. AIC would go on to win the first set by a score of 25-15.
- AIC's offense cooled off in the second set, but still only committed three errors while raking up 15 kills on 33 attempts on their way to a 25-18 victory.
- The third set saw Emerson commit 9 errors with 13 kills on 33 attempts while AIC committed five errors with 9 kills on 27 attempts. AIC ultimately locked up the sweep with a 25-21 victory in the third set.
- The Lions were paced by Junior Neiko Pittman who racked up a game-high 15 kills while Sophomore Bryson Beck notched 25 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set one was tightly contested with Eastern Nazarene narrowly coming away with a 25-23 victory. During the set, Emerson committed 7 errors and 8 kills on 26 attempts while Eastern Nazarene committed only 8 errors and racked up 14 kills on 31 attempts.
- Neiko Pittman led the Lions in the second set as they cruised to a 25-19 victory.
- Eastern Nazarene bounced back in the third set with another narrow, 25-22 victory over Emerson. Eastern Nazarene only committed 6 errors on 35 attempts while Emerson committed 8 errors on 34 attempts. After three sets, Eastern Nazarene led the match 2-1.
- Emerson was unable to create much momentum in the fourth set as Eastern Nazarene was able to notch 8 kills on 35 attempts and squeeze out another narrow victory and secure the 3-1 win over Emerson.
