- In the bottom of the 4th inning, the Wheaton offense exploded. Driving in 7 runs on 7 hits including a 3-run blast by Tristan Keller; the Lyons held a commanding 9-0 lead after 4 innings of play.

- The score remained scoreless until the bottom of the 3rd inning. Wheaton's Julia Rohon doubled in 2 runs, followed by an Erica Piercey RBI single. With the help of a walk, hit-by-pitch and 2 Emerson errors; Wheaton pushed across 4 runs in the inning. After 4 complete innings, Wheaton led 4-0.
- Both teams went down in order in the 5th inning before Wheaton added an insurance run in the home half of the 5th inning with another Piercey RBI.
- Emerson added their lone run in the top of the 7th inning when a Grace Beaulieu plated Freshman Sam Zannotti; who had singled earlier in the inning. This small Emerson rally was short-lived and Wheaton would ultimately hold onto the lead and come away with a 5-1 victory.
