The Lead: Sophomore Makenzie Killough would go 4 for 6 at the dish and Senior Calli Pratt would drive in 2 runs on the day as the Lions completed a doubleheader sweep of Westfield State and Saint Joseph's (ME) on Tuesday afternoon in Leesburg, Florida.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions struck first in the top of the 3rd when Senior Calli Pratt walked to lead off the inning and proceeded to steal second base before Senior Lexi Semanchik reached on a fielder's choice which plated Pratt for the first run of the game.
- Westfield State would answer in the home half of the inning when Jordyn Lummus pushed a run across on a sacrifice fly; tying the game at 1-1 after 3 innings.
- The Lion's next scoring opportunity came in the top of the 5th inning when a Sam Zannotti walk, Sophia Cloonan single, and a Pratt walk would load the bases, but Emerson was unable to push a run across; stranding 3 runners to end the inning.
- The game would stay locked in a 1-1 tie after 7 innings as the game headed to extra innings.
- The Lion's would string together some baserunners to start the 8th inning. The Lions would load the bases before a Grace Beaulieu walk would give the Lions a 2-1 lead in the top of the 8th inning.
- Carly Rosenberger would follow up with a bunt single; driving in another run, followed by another walk plating the Lion's 3rd run of the inning.
- Westfield State would need 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th to extend the game. Colleen Hughs would drive in a run with an RBI double before the next 3 Owls would pop out; securing a Lions 4-2 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions continues the momentum into game 2 of the double header; coming out and scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning.
- Freshman Sam Zannotti led off the inning with a single to left-center before Senior Lexi Semanchik added another single which plated Zannotti; giving the Lions a 1-0 lead.
- Calli Pratt would score on a Saint Joseph's error, giving the Lions a 2-0 advantage after 1 inning.
- Saint Joseph's would answer in the top half of the 2nd inning with a 2-out rally. Freshman Jessica Gomez would retire the first 2 batters of the inning before 2 singles and a double would tie the game at 2-2.
- The Lions would answer right back in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Pratt would drive in 2 runs with a triple, followed by a Makenzie Killough single; putting the Lions back on top 5-2.
- This game would turn into a pitcher's duel after the 2nd inning as both teams would combine for a total of 6 hits and 7 baserunners for the remainder of the game.
- The Lions early inning offense would prove to be the difference as Emerson would hold on for a 5-2 victory and secure the double-header sweep.
