The Lead: The Emerson softball team saw their seven-game win streak come to a close in a pair of setbacks to Suffolk on Friday afternoon. The Lions fell, 7-1, in game one before they fell 3-1 in the second game of the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In Suffolk's top of the first, Delaney Doidge drew a two-out bases load walk to put the visiting Rams on top, 1-0. With runners still on every base, Pratt retired Rebecca Gonzalez on strikes to wrap the frame.
- Emerson responded in the bottom of the second to lock the score at 1-all. After Overton smacked a double to the wall in center, Kuczkowski used her at-bat to rope an RBI two-bagger over the left fielder's head.
- Cifarrata belted the go-ahead RBI double into left to drive in Brandow as Suffolk reclaimed the 2-1 lead in the top of the third.
- Suffolk tacked on an additional three runs in the top of the sixth when Brandow rocketed a three-run shot over the fence in left center to push the Rams up to the 5-1 advantage. In the Rams half of the seventh, Scripter sent a two-run single into center to up the visitors' lead to 7-1.
- Emerson battled to keep its comeback hopes alive in the home half of the seventh. Kuczkowski and Overton each reached on two-out walks, but sophomore Makenzie Killough flew out to right for the game's final out.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson had a prime opportunity in the bottom of the first to get on the board with the bases full of Lions. With two outs, Jacob got Lacey down on strikes as the Lions were unable plate a run and the score held at 0-0.
- With Cifarrata on second, Doidge used an infield single to second to cross her in for the first Suffolk run. Doidge then came around from second to plate the second Rams' run as the visitors held the 2-0 lead after two.
- Suffolk crossed one more run home in the top of the fifth when Quintana batted an RBI single into right as Emerson now faced a 3-0 deficit.
- Emerson got one run back in the home half of the seventh when Semanchik sent an RBI grounder to short to plate Zannotti and cut the lead to two at 3-1. Jacob got Pratt down on strikes to wrap the game as Emerson fell, 3-1.
