HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE
- Emerson would jump out to a commanding 13-0 lead to begin the first set, led by Senior Josh Elliot who compiled 8 aces in this stretch.
- An attack error by Emerson would get Lesley on the board but the Lynx were unable to build any momentum.
- Back-to-back kills by Sophomore Neiko Pittman and Freshman Jack Meissner, the Lions held a 18-2 lead.
- Lesley would add two more points on an attack error and service error by the Lions, but Emerson would close out the set by a score of 25-4.
SET TWO
- Freshman Ramsis De Los Santos would strike first in the second set, before a service error by Emerson would even the score at 1-1.
- The two teams would trade points with Emerson holding on to a one-point lead at 4-3.
- The Lions would string together 9 straight points behind four aces from Junior Jerick Lou.
- Emerson would build their lead to 15-4 before a block by Lesley's Marco Powells and Kyle Murphy would bring the lead to 15-5.
- Again, the Lynx were unable to capture any momentum before Emerson could claim a 25-6 victory in set two.
SET THREE
- The Lions would again jump out to a quick 7-0 lead behind four aces by Freshman Bayden Slavik.
- Senior Rory Dobbins would add two aces of his own as the Lions built a 10-1 lead.
- Junior Jackson Gordon would add five aces in the midst of a 10-0 run by Emerson, pushing their lead to 23-3
- Two service errors by Lesley would give the Lions a 25-5 victory in set three and securing the 3-0 match sweep.
