HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson trailed Plymouth State 6-0 within the opening minute and a half, but were able to erase the deficit with help from back-to-back long balls from Martin and Beckwith.
- After the Lions leveled the score at 6-all at 17:38, Plymouth State spread a 13-5 run over the next four minutes to gain an eight-point edge at 19-11.
- The Panthers grabbed the nine-point 21-13 lead on Bosse's layup at 12:26, their biggest of the game. Over the next minute, Coman, McNamara and Beckwith connected on three consecutive triples to push Emerson back in front at 22-21 with 11:07 to go in the half.
- Plymouth State was able to close within one on four occasions before the Panthers finally knocked down the go-ahead jumper to put Emerson in the 32-31 deficit at the 5:00 mark.
- At 4:10, Beckwith's jumper set the Lions' off on an 8-2 spurt and gave the visitors the five-point edge at 39-34. A three and successful trip to the free throw stripe for Pearce evened the game at 39-all.
- Houston missed the go-ahead layup with four ticks on the clock as Emerson went into halftime locked at 39 with Plymouth State.
- Emerson kept themselves in front through the first four minutes of the second before Tsiklauri drained the go-ahead three to lift the Panthers to the 47-46 lead. The Panthers kept the Lions playing from behind over the next several minutes despite the visitors closing in within one.
- Three's once again fell through for both McNamara and Coman and helped Emerson reclaim the five-point cushion at 62-57 at the 8:22 mark. From that point on, Emerson never relinquished their lead.
- Emerson drained three more shots from the perimeter followed by five more trips to the charity stripe to seal their 81-69 over Plymouth State
