HOW IT HAPPENED

4": WPI came out the gate and got themselves an early 1-0 lead just four minutes into the start of the game.  With the defense off line, Savoie took advantage of a wide open left side and sent in the Engineer's first goal over the fingertips of Fitzsimmons.

24": 20 minutes after WPI had grabbed the one-goal lead, Emerson level the score 1-all. Off a pass from Tyler, Kopanezos sent a header towards Hendrick, who came off his line and misplayed the initial shot. Both the ball and Kopanezos went behind him and fired in the equalizer.

88": With two minutes left in regulation and the game locked in a 1-1 tie. Off his initial rebounded shot, the ball bounced back to Martenso. He then beat Fitzimmons to his right and sent the go-ahead goal into the bottom right corner.

-Emerson was unable to get a shot off within the final two minutes as the Lions slipped to the Engineers, 2-1.
