HOW IT HAPPENED
- Out the gate, Emerson used shots from Houston, Waterhouse and Martin to gain a quick 8-2 lead over the Babson, which would turn out to be the biggest lead that the hosts would hold over the Beavers.
- Just past the midway point of the first saw the teams exchange leads before Babson used an 14-9 streak that was capped by a trifecta by Dorney to give the Beavers a six-point edge at 34-28 with 7:24 to go.
- Babson's six-point edge disappeared as Beckwith used two deep balls and a trey to push Emerson back on top by four at 38-34 at the 3:21 mark. Houston followed with a layup as his own to once again give the hosts the six-point advantage back to 40-34.
- In the final 2:49 of the first frame, Kirkpatrick put up four points to slim Emerson's lead down to 40-39 at the half.
- The beginnings of the second half had Emerson ahead by its biggest lead of the frame as the Lions came out on a 8-5 run and the 48-44 lead.
- Babson and Emerson exchanged basket after basket through a large chunk of the second as six ties occurred with leads never extending over three.
- With 30 ticks left in regulation, a layup from Beckwith and Waterhouse's trip to the free throw stripe pushed Emerson ahead by three. It was Kirkpatrick who knotted the game up at the six second mark on a game-tying triple at 76-all.
- Martin launched a three as the clock wound down, but the shot missed and the game was sent into overtime.
- Two minutes passed in overtime with no baskets on either side until Bradanese put up a layup to break the scoreless streak and gave Babson the two-point 78-76 edge.
- Emerson was outscored 11-3 in the overtime period as Babson sealed the win at the line.
