HOW IT HAPPENED

  • For a span of 30 minutes, the scored remained zero on both sides despite Emerson having a key opportunity to get themselves on the board with a penalty kick by Biathrow at the 12 minute mark that was halted by the dive of Medina.

32': After Lloyd sent a quick cross inside the box over to Santoro, Santoro rocketed the 1-0 lead for Wheaton into the bottom righthand corner past Ramer.

70': The Lions managed to hold the host Lyons to one goal through the remainder of the opening frame and deep into the second. In the 70th minute of a 1-0 game, a foul committed by Emerson allowed Wheaton the penalty opportunity, which Stringer capitalized on and put the Lions in a 2-0 hole.

84': A crossed pass to Blackadar from Ferrier with six minutes on the clock gave Wheaton their final goal.
