BOSTON, Mass.
- The Emerson men's basketball team looks for another season sweep out at Wheaton (Mass.) on Wednesday night before trekking out to Springfield on Saturday in a key matchup at 3:00 p.m. The Lions are coming off a 1-1 week where they fell to Babson and picked up a series sweep over MIT. 


A LOOK BACK 

  • Emerson posted a 1-1 split between its pair of matchups this past week as their overall record moved to 12-7 with a 5-3 record against conference opponents. 
  • The Lions took a quick road trip to Babson to break a three-game home stand where the visitors were edged out by a last second buzzer beater by the Beavers in an 86-84 setback last Wednesday. 
  • It was a season sweep on Saturday against the visiting MIT Engineers as the Purple and Yellow handed the Engineers an 86-57 setback in a win that saw six Lions drop double figures in points, led by 18 from sophomore Jarred Houston (Norwood, Mass.).

DAVIS DUBBED LION OF THE WEEK 

  • The freshman shooting guard from Oakland, California, Max Davis, has been named Lion of the Week for the week of competition spanning from January 27 to February 2. 
  • Davis has played a vital role as a reserve, tallying a combined 15 points in a 1-1 week for Emerson on 7-of-9 shots from the floor alongside four assists. 
  • In the Lions' 86-57 victory over MIT on Saturday, Davis contributed nine points from 3-of-5 shots with four assists.
