HOW IT HAPPENED

• Raagas opened up the game on the serve, with the Lions winning the first 13 points of the match.  Emerson built a 16 point lead at 17-1 behind kills from Matt Connoly (Haverhill, Mass.) and Samuel Willinger (Golden Beach, Fla.). The Lions closed out the set 25-10, taking a 1-0 lead.
• The second set was closer, with the Lions and Lynx splitting the first ten points.  Emerson rattled off an 11-3 run from here, led by two kills from Willinger, to give the Lions a 16-8 lead.  Emerson closed out the set by trading points with the Lynx, but finished at 25-15 and took a 2-0 lead.
• The third set saw Emerson jump out to an early six point lead at 10-4.  Emerson continued to build on their lead, going on a second 10-4 run to take a 20-8 lead.  The Lions closed out the third set with the same score of the first set 25-10, taking the match 3-0.
