HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson gained an early 10-point lead (45-35) on Coast Guard with 4:15 left in the opening half before the hosts kept the Lions off the board and embarked on a 13-2 spurt to go in front by three, but it was the visitors who entered the half with a three-point 55-52 advantage.
- With 4:09 on the clock of the second frame, the Bears pieced together another long run, this time at 10-2, as the Lions now faced a three-point deficit (93-90).
- Davis sent up the equalizing trey to knot the score at 93-all with 3:25 still left to play before Drummond knocked down a bucket to once again push Coast Guard ahead by a pair (95-93).
- O'Connor connected on another tying bucket for Emerson, this time at 1:24 only to see Drummond drain a three at the other end at the 1:10 mark to once again put the Lions in a three-point hole with the clock winding down.
- Coast Guard used the free throw stripe to gain a three-point 100-97 edge with 15 ticks on the clock as Waterhouse added a last-second layup to inch the Lions within striking distance, but another layup by Drummond sealed the Lions' 102-99 setback.
