HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson and Wentworth split the first six points of the game, but the Leopards took the next six to take a six point lead at 9-3. Emerson went on a 5-2 run, cutting the lead to three at 11-8 behind kills from Josh Elliot (Swedesboro, N.J.) and Parker Gray (Los Angeles, Calif.). Wentworth went on a 10-3 run, taking a 10 point lead at 21-11 and closed out the Lions in the first set 25-15.
- The Lions and Leopards battled in the opening part of the second set, with Gray grabbing two more skills to keep the Leopards advantage to three at 9-6. Wentworth went on a 7-2 run, taking a 16-8 lead. The Lions scored two of the next three points, but Wentworth closed out the set on an 8-9 run, taking the second set 25-10.
- The third set saw the Lions fall behind 7-4 with kills from Gray and Parker in the early parts of the set. The Leopards went on a 13-3 run after trading points with the Lions, and took a 20-9 lead. Emerson fell 25-9 and fell in the match 3-0.
