The Lead: The fifth seeded Emerson College Lions were defeated by the sixth seeded Wellesley Blue in the third game played by both teams in the double elimination tournament.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Haley Moniz earned the victory for the Blue, pitching a five hit shutout over six innings.  
• Mary Kuczkowski () led the Lions, with three singles from the six spot in the Lineup.
• Kalei Oliver and Autumn Brown head had two hits for the Blue, who totaled eight as a team.
• Jill O'Shea drove in three runs to lead the Blue while Julianne Griffin had two. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Wellesley opened up the scoring in the top of the second inning, first on a RBI Groundout by O'Shea.  Griffin followed O'Shea with a two run double to give the Blue a 3-0 lead.
• The Blue added two more runs in the top of the third inning, before a two RBI single by O'Shea extended the Blue lead to seven.
• Wellesley added on one more run in the top of the sixth inning, ending the game at 8-0.
• The loss marks the ends of the Lions' season, who finished with a 20-20 record.
