Weekly Preview: Men's Basketball Spends First Week Of December At Home

BOSTON, Mass.
- The holiday is over and it is back to the court. The Emerson men's basketball team spends the first full week of December at home with a pair of non conference matchups. The week starts out with the Lions hosting its Boston Commons foe, Suffolk, on Tuesday and welcomes No. 3 Amherst for a Saturday matinee. 


A LOOK BACK 

  • In Emerson's lone game before the holiday out at Pine Manor, the Lions picked up a much needed 99-84 win over the Gators
  • The Lions had some heavy hitters contributing to the win with sophomore Nate Martin (Washington D.C.) dishing a career high 33 points followed by a season best 21 points from freshman James Beckwith (Palo Alto, Calif.)

MARTIN NAMED NEWMAC MEN'S BASKETBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK 

  • Martin made a big enough splash in Emerson's lone game of the week to be crowned Offensive Player of the Week behind a career night of 33 points against Pine Manor last Tuesday. 
  • The sophomore finished the night shooting 11-of-18 from the floor and connected on all six of his buckets beyond the arc
