  • After the Saints tacked on the next five of six points to claim the 17-16 lead back, the Lions regained 21-19 lead before the Saints locked the score again at 21-all.
  • On the next three of four points, Emerson's two point lead at 24-22 would be its biggest margin that it would hold through the remainder of the set.

  • Emmanuel had the 35-34 lead in their hands until Piorkowski powered out a trio of his 28 kills to pull Emerson to a 37-35 first set finish.

SET TWO

  • An early 2-0 deficit was the only time Emerson would trail before the Lions bounced back with the next 10 of 11 points to put them ahead, 10-3.
  • Emmanuel closed to within five at 13-8 on an attack error as Emerson countered for the next of six to bring their lead to nine at 18-9.
  • A trio of consecutive points cut by the Saints cut the Lions lead margin down to six at 18-12 on a swing by Erik English.
  • Through the end of the second frame, Emerson continued to hold an advantage of at least seven over the hosts and notched the 25-18 win on junior Stig Regan's (Kailua, Hi.) kill.

SET THREE

  • Emerson opened the third stanza up with a 3-0 lead before Emmanuel scored the following three points to square the score at 3-all.
  • The score would be knotted three more times, the last at 6-all, as Emmanuel broke the tie and upped their lead margin to three twice at 11-8 and 13-10.
  • The Lions would trail by two at 15-13 until they took their first lead at 16-15 on an attack error.

SET FOUR

  • Emerson was able to break two ties, once at 4-all and then 6-all, before they were able to extend their lead to four at 11-7 on a bad set by Emmanuel.
  • With the 12-9 lead in Emerson's favor, Emmanuel battled and countered for the next five points to regain the 14-12 advantage.
  • A kill from Piorkowski brought Emerson back to within one at 15-14, but Emmanuel responded with the next five points to extend the score at 19-15.
