Lion's Softball Drops Doubleheader to MIT

It was a rough day for the Lions as they dropped a doubleheader to the visiting MIT Engineers. The first game ended in five innings and the second in six, both with a score of 11-0, MIT. Emerson Softball is now 7-10 overall and 0-6 in conference play, while MIT rises to  10-2 overall and 4-0 in the NEWMAC.

 

Natalie Shifflet was first on the board for the Engineers as she scored on a wild pitch in the top of the first. MIT would go on to score 6 runs before Emerson got their first at bat. Amanda Lee and Ali Trueworthy both have 5 total RBIs between the games off of four hits each.

Pitching for the Lions were Casey Tsamis, Samantha Corey, and Alexis Ellis-Alvarez. Tsamis was credited with the loss in game one and Corey for game two.

At the mound for MIT were Ellie Fodor,Deanna Delgado, and Alexandra Marshall. Fodor and Marshall were credited with wins.


Emerson Softball looks to their next game on the road against WPI. A doubleheader is set for April 4th at 12:00pm and 2:00pm.
