Men's Basketball Dominates On Offense In 79-64 Win Over Suffolk

BOSTON, Mass. – Michael Thorpe exploded for 22 points, two blocks and three assists and steals on the day to lead the Emerson Men's Basketball Team to a 79-64 win over the Suffolk Rams Sunday afternoon. With the win the Lions are now 6-5 on the year as Suffolk falls to 6-5 overall.

The first half saw the Lions come out on point, shooting an unreal 50% from the floor with Ryan Clinesmith leading the way with 10 points and Eli Kell-Abrams right behind with nine in the half. Clinesmith also paved the way with five boards in the half as the Lions did work in the paint with 24 points to send them into the break with a dominant 48-22 lead.

The second half saw Thorpe take control as he dropped 14 points in the half while stepping up on defense for two blocks and two steals and three rebounds. Austin Pickney stepped up as well with four points and four rebounds which played key as EC put up 12 points in the paint and six off fast breaks as they ripped off with the 79-64 win on the day.

The Lions return to home court action this Wednesday as they set to face NEWMAC foes Babson. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Emerson's Brown-Plofker Gym in Boston, Mass.
