Box Score
It was a rough day for the Emerson Lions as they duked it out with the MIT Engineers. Michael Thorpe's 15 points, along with Tyson Hallowell and Sean Duffy's 9 each, just wasn't enough to secure victory over MIT. The first quarter was dead even. Emerson got off more shots but MIT's 40% on three-pointers was enough to keep them in the game. Both teams left the court tied at 27.
The second half saw MIT pulling ahead thanks to Ryan Frankel's 21 points, as well as Spencer Rust's 15. Emerson fought valiantly but the defensive rebounds of MIT allowed for few second chances. Emerson saw the opportunity to retake the game, getting off 10 more shots than MIT, but unfortunately most of them missed their mark. The game ended with Emerson losing 55-64 after keeping the game neck and neck for the majority of the time.
This brings Emerson to 9-7 overall, and 3-3 in the NEWMAC. They look ahead to their next game at Springfield on Wednesday, January 28 (7:00pm)
