BOSTON, Mass. A .500 day from Bianca Buono and some stellar defensive plays from Monique Medina help split the bill between the JWU Wildcats Sunday afternoon. The Lions won 2-0 in game one and fell 6-2 to move to 10-5 on the year.

In the first game, Alicia Daniele's complete game shut-out and Bianca Buono's 3-for-3 game were the highlights for the Lions. Daniele went the distance for all seven, allowing only five hits and two walks while striking out three. Buono got it all started for the Lions in the fifth as she singled through the left side before two sac bunts moved her to third before Tatiana Motevalli-Oliner brought her home with a clutch single up the middle to make it 1-0.

EC put up another run in the seventh as well with a lead-off bunt single from Amanda Horton that was brought around with a huge double to left center from Shannon Torosian. Daniele took the rest on her back though as Emerson rolled to the 2-0 win.

Game two on the day saw Brittany Rochford go 2-for-3 in the game as the Lions came out with a hot start in the first with a double from Rochford followed by a fielder's choice that put Shannon Torosian on before Jenna Giannelli doubled down the right field line to bring in two and make it 2-0.

The score remained that way until the sixth when JWU struck back with a vengeance as they put up six runs on six hits and an error in the inning with RBIs from Gardner, Gorecki, Proby, Cabral and George to send JWU past Emerson 6-2 as the Lions couldn't retaliate in the final innings.

Emerson Softball roars back into action this Tuesday as they travel to Brandeis for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. in Waltham, Mass.
