Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – Austin Pinckney lit it up for a double-double on the night as the Emerson Men's Basketball Team rolled to a 67-41 win over the Lesley Lynx Wednesday night. With the win the Lions improve to 3-4 on the year as Lesley drops to 0-5.
The first half of play saw the game play out a little close for comfort for the Lions as Lesley shot 42% to EC's 35%. Three point shots and free throws helped edge the Lions ahead of the Lynx, but it was the big men in the paint who did the work, dropping 14 points for Emerson. Michael Thorpe led the floor in the half with nine points in the half while Pickney picked up eight and eight boards to head into the break up 33-26.
The second half saw Emerson pick up the pace though, shooting 41% from the floor as all but one Lion that graced the floor score in the half. EC's defense stepped up as well as they scored 10 points off of turnovers and 22 points in the paint as rebounds spelled the difference with Emerson pulling down 34 rebounds to Lesley's nine to take home the 67-41 win.
The Lions will travel to Amherst this Saturday where they'll tip-off at 2 p.m. in a r-match of last year's huge upset of the Lord Jeffs.
